The Board is excited to announce, that working together with the Lumpkin County administrator we have exciting news, effective Saturday May 23rd we are reopening the NGMA flying site in what is Phase II. Just in time for Memorial Day weekend, and what looks like at least a couple of days of great flying weather.

You might be asking, what does Phase II of reopening mean to me? Great question, here are the specifics;

  • Participation at the site by Members and Guests is fully reopened. In other words the 10 person limit on field participants has been lifted.

  • Guests can once again fly at our site, while accompanied by a member for the duration of their visit. The previous restriction limiting guest participation has been lifted.

  • The only constraint that remains in place is to maintain social distancing, being mindful of your fellow pilots and their, and your proximity to one another.

  • We ask that all members continue to operate responsibly and with respect for one another and your fellow club members.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the flying field very soon!

Cheers,

TJ Klise

This past Sunday our work party crew completed our 1st class startup pads. Constructed with railroad cross ties for the back and side walls and 12 x 12 paving stones laid on a sand base these startup pads are second to none! Today the removable hold down posts were completed and installed, making the pads fully operational. These will accommodate giant scale aerobatic aircraft as well as smaller gas & glow models.

We all are excited to get out on the next nice flying day and give these a try.

Here's to continuing flying site improvements!

Cheers,

TJ
